| " I'm a painter,first and
foremost ". Darwin originally trained as a medical and scientific illustrator and later
took an MA in botanical illustration. From working primarily in
watercolours, she turned to silk painting, " mainly because I have a love of
fabrics from wallhangings to clothes. I discovered that there wasn't very
much out there that I liked, so I decided to make it myself. I love the
colours and effects which are obtainable in silk painting, the vibrancy
and sheer lusciousness of them. continued |
